A 2.5–3.0 m sliding door raises a practical issue: standard insect screens don't cover such large openings properly. The plissé sliding screen solves this elegantly with a folded mesh that compresses into compact pleats when open, covering the full width when closed.

Can it be fitted to an existing terrace?

Yes, provided the opening allows a suitable threshold. The low threshold version needs 20 mm of depth in the floor screed; without it, a surface-mounted threshold is used, slightly raised.

What happens to the seal in strong wind?

The sash presses against the gasket when locked, not just when closed, so tightness holds in gusts. The system is tested to class 9A for water tightness and C4 for wind load.

Can a plissé screen be fitted to ordinary windows too?

Yes, the plissé runs on a bottom and top guide and can be adapted to any opening up to 4 m wide. On standard windows a roller screen is usually cheaper.

How much does an evolutionDrive Plus+ system with a plissé screen cost?

For a two-panel opening of roughly 3 × 2.2 m, the range is 4,500–6,500 EUR depending on glazing, colour and hardware. The plissé screen adds 600–900 EUR.

How hard is a large sash to operate?

The evolutionDrive Plus+ runs on bearing rollers, so a sash of up to 200 kg moves with about the effort of opening a normal door. Above that weight, motorised operation is recommended.
