The interior vapour barrier sealing tape is the Sd > 10 m component of the RAL 3-layer system, placed on the interior face of the joint to prevent warm indoor vapour from migrating toward the wall and condensing in the insulation zone. The essential difference from a simple vapour retarder (Sd 1–5 m) is that the Sd > 10 m barrier completely blocks vapour migration — it does not reduce it, it eliminates it — ensuring that no moisture from inside the home can reach the wall structure through the window installation joint. This is directly linked to the absence of black mould in window corners, the problem affecting millions of Romanian homes, which is caused not by the window itself, but by the lack of correct sealing of the installation joint. PE or laminated aluminium material with Sd > 10 m is certified for durability > 25 years, does not age and does not emit chemicals.
